One of the world’s biggest TV showcases is returning to Liverpool next weekend. The four day event, from BBC Worldwide, gives people a chance to see the best programmes on the planet before anyone else. It also brings to the city some of the industry’s hottest talents.

Last year’s showcase was a star studded event. It included a gala hosted by Absolutely Fabulous stars Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley, and appearances from Gary Barlow, Ed Westwick and Joel Dommett.

The BBC Worldwide Showcase is the world’s largest international TV market to be hosted by a single distributor. The event attracts hundreds of the world’s top TV buyers, award-winning producers and on-screen talent, with more than 700 arriving in Merseyside each year.

The showcase is running from Sunday 18th February to Wednesday 21st February and will take place at the ACC Liverpool. This is the seventh year the Showcase has been hosted in Liverpool which is a boost for the 2008 City of Culture. The event gives locals a chance to meet TV stars and watch some of their favourite shows.
